6 - Top Free Apps a student should have

1.       Merriam-Webster Dictionary (iOS and Android)

        Is a free app from Merriam-Webster Inc. This app’s size is 33.7 mb and contains about millions of words inside. What is unique here is that it lists your search history, you can bookmark some words or add it in favorite section. Another is you can use the voice search option to search for a definition of a specific word. Every student must have this app for them to look for words they don’t really fully understand.

2.       My Student Life (Android and Windows 8)

         My Student Life is an app that lets you list your schedule in subjects throughout the day, week or month. You can also list your schedule in upcoming exams. List the task you need to do, their submission or deadline etc. It is like an e-planner but more convenient one. Unfortunately it is not available on iOS devices but the developer says they are still working on it.

3.       WPS Office (Android and iOS)

         

 WPS Office by Kingsoft is a very versatile app that lets you read, edit and open documents like .pdf, .doc, .xlx, .pptx etc. Student’s life revolves in documents for them to interact with the subject now a days. So apps like WPS Office is a must.

4.       Slideshare (Android Only)

   

  Slideshare is an online app that lets students download ppts and docs. It is an online community that let people share their knowledge in the powerpoint way for a specific topic to other members. Schools who doesn’t have their own online portal can use this as a way of sharing file among students and teachers.

5.       Dropbox (Android and iOS)

         

 Dropbox is powered by cloud computing. Meaning it works like an online hard disk. Admit it or not students often forget flash drives that contain for example their report, project, avp presentation etc. at home. That is why Dropbox is very helpful to those students. They can just download their document in school that has been uploaded before at home.
