15 - An Act of Valor

As Arthur Ashe once said "True heroism is remarkably sober, very undramatic; It is not the urge to surpass all others at whatever cost, but the urge to serve others at whatever cost." It means that someone is brave or valiant if the person is ready to give his or her own life to someone. And with heroism no challenges or hardships can stop a person doing their duties. And with heroism comes fidelity, it is having faith to someone or something that is why a person is ready to make some sacrifices. The fallen 44 should not be forgotten because they died protecting our country, they inspire us to have the same level of bravery not just by dying, and sacrificing their lives means having for us a brighter future.

The fallen 44 died protecting our country. The fallen 44 is the special action force who died on an operation to capture the international terrorist Marwan. "The terrorist has been captured" said the government allegedly. Even so the fallen 44 did not abandoned their duties and responsibilities to protect us even if it requires to sacrifice their own life. They did not hesitate nor been skeptical to do the bravery. They are valiant and fearless for they know it is for the country's sake. Thus every Filipino won't forget how heroic the fallen 44 have been.

They inspire us to have the same level of bravery not just by dying. Yes, dying is not the only way to show our loyalty to our beloved land. There are many ways to show that such as being proud using our language wherever we are, singing our national anthem sincerely, and most important of all, be kind and generous to our fellow Filipino. There is much more ways but believe it or not these simple things can make a big impact in our country. When we combine the little good things we did we can make this country a better place, this means bravery like the fallen 44 did. Their death did not only protected us but also it wakened the hearts of Filipinos to dream and believe that there is hope.

Sacrificing their lives means having for us a brighter future. Not only the fallen 44 are the ones to
give praises but also everyone who is out there ready to give everything for our country’s sake. I salute all of them, and nothing or no one can be compared to them. And we owe them a great debt of gratitude for having the will of protecting us and our children from harm is simply priceless. That is why we should reach out their families and give them enough benefits in exchange for what the fallen 44 did. We should give honor and respect and we should be forever grateful to them.

The fallen 44’s act of valor is beyond ordinary. Giving a life you will live only once for your country is something valiant and heroic and not all can do such thing. Because of what they did we have now a safer and more peaceful country. Thus, having a brighter future of our children. Just like what heroes do, it gives hope to some people who is in despair. It inspires them, it is like a candlelight in a dark room. Even if the time pass by, they will not remain just a memory but something carved in our hearts that will remain forever.
